knit and crochet today basics

Crochet is derived from the French word croc or croche, meaning hook. The internet is full of websites that can teach you crochet.

You will generally start with a beginners crochet block; as it is the start of many other projects. Either way, the ability to crochet allows enthusiasts to practice it for their own enjoyment or even make a job out of it, selling their pieces in craft stores, at fairs, in specialty boutiques, or online. You may even find that if you approach someone who knows how to crochet and tell them that you would like to learn to crochet, they ll be happy to pass along some lessons.

Even so, you may still need to play around wth the tension - adding or reducing the number of stitches until the tension square matches that in the pattern. Some of the more common stitches are chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, popcorn crochet, and cluster crochet. As stated earlier, there is practically now limit to the kinds of crochet handbags available in the market right now.

You just never know what works of art are hiding in your fingertips! Crochet pattern e-books are great value and very convenient.
